Memory Installation Guide

Installing memory is a fairly simple process. The first thing you will need to do is find the memory slots on your motherboard. These are generally located close to the processor and are long black rectangular slots. If you need additional help you can read the manual that came with your motherboard.

Once you have found the memory slots you can remove your memory from the antistatic bag that it came in. Be careful to properly ground yourself before handling the memory. Also, when handling the memory be sure to only touch the edges and try to avoid contact with the gold plated pins.

When you have your memory, you will notice that it is notched along the bottom edge. These notches align with keys in the memory slot so that it only fits one way. Open up the ejector clips at either end of the slot and a align the notches on the memory with the keys in the slot.

Using firm, even pressure press the memory straight down into the slot. If you have aligned it correctly the memory will seat itself into the slot and the ejector clips will come up and lock it into place. If you have a problem make sure that you have aligned the notches correctly and try again. It takes about 29lbs of pressure to seat the memory so you will need to pretty forceful.

Installing memory is an easy process if you just follow the steps I have outlined above.
